The Latest Boundaries Single: A Tribute to the Victims of the San Diego Plane Crash

On Friday, June 19th, Boundaries released “May this pain never leave” their fourth single off their upcoming album. Upon releasing this album the band captioned their posts with “For Dave, for Kendall, for Emma, and for Daniel. Forever.”

Last May, a private jet departed from Teterboro Airport in an attempt to make it to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport in San Diego. Aboard that plane were Dave Shapiro, Kendall Fortner, Emma Huke, and Daniel Carmelo who were killed when the plane crashed into a San Diego neighborhood. Their deaths sent shocks into the music industry and many bands, including Boundaries, were affected.

“May this pain never leave” includes lyrics like “So vacant is this moment, So noticed is your absence,” “I will suffer your loss, As long as I live and breathe,” “Why are the ones that I love, The ones being buried,” “I'd give it all to see you again, A son, a brother, a father, a friend… But never f*cking dead” In all of these lines Matt McDougal, the vocalist of Boundaries, is expressing his feelings about losing these people close to him.

The chorus of the song, sung by Tim Sullivan and McDougal, use the title to express how the pain they are experiencing will be their fuel to keep their memory alive “May this pain never let me forget (Did you forget?) Always remembered (Forever, forever)”

Boundaries are set to release their fourth album “Yearning: The unbeautiful after” on Friday, July 17th
