SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- The Seton Hall Pirates tip off the 2025–26 season on Tuesday night at Historic Walsh Gymnasium against the Saint Peter’s Peacocks.

After a 23-win season, head coach Tony Bozzella has built this team around a promising young core that is expected to contend in the BIG EAST. The Pirates looked unstoppable in their dominant exhibition win over the Jefferson Rams, with the final score being 92–42. They forced 32 turnovers, proving just how relentless their defense truly is.

Thriving off of defensive pressure and scoring off turnovers is part of the Pirates’ identity and how they take over games. Last season, Seton Hall forced nearly 20 turnovers per game, averaging 10.8 steals.

This is headlined by their two young stars. One is sophomore guard Jada Eads, the reigning MBWA Division I Rookie of the Year, who returns after averaging 13.8 points, and 2.44 steals per game. Then, junior guard Savannah Catalon who averaged 13.5 points and 4.1 steals per game, leading the BIG EAST.

Another name to watch this season is senior wing Shailyn Pinkney, who is now healthy after a season-ending knee injury last season and is expected to play a major role.

Additionally, Jordana Codio could be the answer to Seton Hall’s 3-point shooting struggles from last season after putting up 19 points while shooting 10-12 on field goals, including nailing all four of her three point attempts in the Pirates’ exhibition game.

The team also brought in a talented freshman class led by Ari Woodard, Jada Snow, Zahara Bishop, Trishay Collins, and Natalia Hall‑Rosa, thus adding further depth and versatility.

Tipoff for the season opener against Saint Peter’s is set for 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 4 at Walsh Gymnasium, where the Pirates will look to make a statement on night one. Chris Heite and Christian Oliveri will be on the call.
