SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- The Seton Hall Pirates showed a glimpse of what is to come in the 2025-26 season with a 92-42 win in their exhibition game against the Jefferson Rams.

Despite the contest only being preseason, the level of physicality and effort the Pirates displayed was at regular season quality. Seton Hall displayed no fear in making hustle plays, diving for loose balls, and drawing charges, symbolic of the identity that head coach Tony Bozzella has instilled in his squad.

A key for the Pirates was aggressiveness on the defensive end, as they forced 32 turnovers, completely disrupting the Rams flow all game long.

After struggling from beyond the arc last season, the Pirates have seemingly found a sharpshooter in junior Texas transfer Jordana Codio. Codio lit up the scoreboard all game long with 19 points off of 10-12 shooting, including making all four of her three-point attempts.

Meanwhile, the Pirates’ dynamic duo of Jada Eads and Savannah Catalon had strong showings in Seton Hall’s path to victory. Catalon displayed immense effort through hustle plays and drawing multiple charges which gave Jefferson headaches all game long, while Eads was able to spark excellent facilitation on offense setting up multiple teammates to score.

Seton Hall was able to receive contributors from all areas of the court in their victory, indicative of how much lineup depth the Pirates possess going into this new season. In particular, their bench play was one of their keys to victory. Coach Bozzella has placed great trust in his younger players and they certainly did not disappoint, with sophomores Ja’Kahla Craft and Cam Rust displaying great abilities to stretch the floor and play on both the perimeter and the paint.

Seton Hall picked up right where they left off last season in this dominant win against Jefferson. The Pirates now set their sights towards next week, as they host the Saint Peter’s Peacocks in Walsh Gymnasium for their regular season opener on Tuesday, November 4 at 7 P.M.
