The Seton Hall Pirates (17-8, 11-5 CONF) dominated the DePaul Blue Demons (6-21, 3-13 CONF) on Saturday afternoon in Historic Walsh Gymnasium by a final score of 96-72.

The Pirates shot lights out and were all business as they never took their foot off the gas pedal until the very final minutes.

Seton Hall now advances to 11-5 in BIG EAST play and 17-8 overall, holding the three seed in the conference over Marquette.

Four Pirates broke out for double digits in scoring, including Jordana Codio (17 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Ja’kahla Craft (26 points, 4 rebounds, 11-11 FG), Savannah Catalon (17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists), Mariana Valenzuela (13 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Additionally, freshman Ari Woodard got her first start, posting five points and a stellar 11 assists.

Codio used her court vision early in the game to become a pest and allow her fellow pirates to join in as well, disrupting the flow early and establishing the pace in the opening seconds of the contest.

The Pirates nearly reached the 100-point mark for the first time since their 108-65 victory over Xavier on February 21, 2021. While ultimately falling short, they still put on a spectacle for Seton Hall fans and a notice to the rest of the BIG EAST.

There were some shortfalls that came of the Pirates in this contest, as their ability to get around the full court press was minorly concerning, as well as their ability to inbound the ball, although it can be chalked up to it being a blowout of a game in the earlier quarters.

The next time the Pirates take the court is in their contest against the Xavier Musketeers on Wednesday, February 18, where they will look to extend their win streak to three consecutive games.
