Savanna Jones, the 6 '2 forward/center from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, will look to bolster and contribute a new look Seton Hall Pirates frontcourt. Before Seton Hall, Jones played at North Dakota State College of Science, and then joined the Pirates for the 2024-25 season.

At NDSC she averaged 13.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 29.9 minutes per game. Then, in her first season for the Pirates, Jones played in 29 games, all off the bench. She averaged 1.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in 5.9 minutes per game.

While there was a long jam for minutes in the frontcourt behind upperclassmen I’yanna Lops and Faith Masonius, Jones did show flashes of strong performance and consistency in the opportunities that she was given.

Jones shot the ball at a very efficient 45 percent in a small sample size. Career-best games included performances like eight points, four rebounds and a steal at Butler and when she opened the season with five points, three rebounds and two steals against Jefferson.

Looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, Jones looks to feature more in the frontcourt and earn additional playing time. Seton Hall has lost team leaders and starters like Lops and Masonius, both frontcourt leaders, to graduation, possibly opening up a spot.

Jones, alongside others like Messiah Hunter and transfer Mariana Valenzuela, will be tasked with giving the Pirates much needed paint production to help take some of the load off of Savannah Catalon and Jada Eads.

College Basketball has seen rosters completely changed from season to season, however Seton Hall has most of their non-seniors returning from last season. Jones will be a player that Coach Bozzella can rely on to know the system and contribute from day one.

Fans should expect Jones to be a key piece of the Pirates frontcourt and help contribute a successful season in South Orange.
