The Seton Hall Pirates continued their already busy offseason by bringing in 6'8" senior forward Mayar Wol. Wol, a transfer from Bowling Green State University, was one of five Falcons to play in all 32 games throughout the 2025-26 campaign.
Coming out of Word of God Christian Academy in his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina, Wol was ranked 90th in the country and was a 4-star recruit with offers from schools like Clemson, Ole Miss, and Georgia Tech. He played his freshman year at the College of Charleston but saw minimal playing time, averaging just five minutes a night.
His sophomore year he transferred to Eastern Kentucky University and saw a much bigger role winning the Atlantic Sun Conference Sixth Man of the Year. He averaged 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game on 40% shooting in 24 minutes a night. Wol had two great back-to-back stand out games vs Western Georgia and Queens, scoring 20 points in some much needed wins.
After this, Wol transferred once again, this time to Bowling Green, playing the best basketball in his collegiate career. In the 32 games he played in, he started in 10 of them and was tied as a team leader in three-pointers and three-point percentage. He shot 39% from beyond the arc and splashed in 50 threes for the season.
His time as a Falcon also came with some big-time games against Akron and the season opener vs Texas State. Against Akron he dropped 32 points and connected on five threes and against Texas State he had 19 points on 4/4 from beyond the arc. Wol finished off the season on the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District as well, which recognizes the top student athletes across all collegiate divisional schools.
Now in his senior year, Wol is coming into an almost entirely new Seton Hall team, and he seemingly fills in a lot of empty spaces for the Pirates. He is a high energy, versatile 6'8” forward who can stretch the floor, get to the rim, and be a lethal threat from beyond the arc. Wol has proven to be a natural scorer who can completely take over a game when he gets hot.
Something he's also known for is his defense, as he can stop a team in their tracks and force a turnover or steal when needed, turning steals into easy fast breaks.
His play as a modern day stretch forward will be a perfect fit as he looks to be a key player joining in on this new Seton Hall 2026-27 roster.
