Fairview, N.J. - For the first time since the mid-1960s, the town of Fairview, N.J. will be getting a new street name.
Kamena Street will soon be renamed “Father Peter Sticco Way” honoring the beloved priest of the Our Lady of Grace parish and school.
Father Peter Sticco served as the pastor of the Fairview church and community since 1977. In addition to leading the parish and school, he served as the Provincial of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate and oversaw missions in Baltimore and Peru. Sticco also served 20 years as a chaplain in the Air Force, building a legacy that parishioners say is unmatched.
Before his passing in November of 2025, I had the chance to record a sit down interview with him where he told me how he had a special connection with Mother Teresa and how she even gave him a set of rosary beads. He told me two lines in that interview that stood out to me. Father said to Mother Teresa, “It looks like a bad day with the weather.” Mother Teresa responded to him saying “Don’t you ever say that, No day is a bad day. God gives us good days every day, and it is a good day for us.”
The street naming ceremony will take place on Friday, June 5th at 6 p.m.
