EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ --- A new but familiar to some pizza restaurant has emerged in the American Dream mall in East Rutherford. Freddy Fazbears Pizza from the hit game series “Five Nights at Freddy's” (FNAF) has now made its way into a real life setting after major success with the first two films of the same name along with countless amounts of games, novels and merchandise for the franchise. The creative manager behind the attraction was quoted as saying “We’re not building a set that looks like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza — we’re building Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza” from an article on Deadline, which is setting a very high bar for the first ever real adaption outside of film of the restaurant and animatronics.

Back to the franchises origins, the indie horror game had humble beginnings in 2014 when it was quietly released on the platform Desura, followed by a Steam release and after that there was no looking back for the soon to be horror pioneer of the genre, bringing a whole new generation of horror fans into a new idea of the time, something much different then the horror characters of the past, robots, instead of humans being the antagonist. This unforeseen success also waved in a new era of indie developers not being afraid to try something out on the chance that it may be a smash hit, and it was. Leading to the aforementioned toys, shirts, socks, and clothing, if you could put Freddy Fazbear on it, he was there along with his 3 other companions.

Moving into the current day, the restaurant will feature Freddy and the gang, those being Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, along with the chance to play horror themed multi player games in the restaurant. The attraction is scheduled to open sometime in 2027, to an assuredly packed opening day crowd, with this location looking to serve as the flagship and being the example restaurant for future ones to possibly come.

The attraction also serves as one of the first new pizza entertainment experiences outside of Chuck E Cheese (CEC) in quite some time as well, looking to possibly gather nostalgic fans of CEC to now become fans of FNAF if they weren’t already. Along with this positive upside, it also looks to bring more traction to the massive mall and could be something for the younger crowd to do that doesn’t require making a whole day out of it. With that being said, this is a massive step in the right direction and a dream for some, often being theorized on the internet that some abandoned place was the “real” Freddy Fazbear's Pizza early in the game’s life, now coming to real life for those that grew up with the franchise.
