Disney Opens Newest Store in New Jersey

PARAMUS, N.J. - Disney has opened its brand-new Disney Store in Paramus, marking it as the first new location in the tri-state area since before the COVID-19 pandemic.  

 
The grand opening took place on Sept. 3rd, with the official store listed as Disney Store: Limited Time. Unlike the other stores in Times Square and Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, the Paramus location will operate only until January, closing after the holiday season.   

 

This is Disney’s second limited-time store, joining another in Pittsburgh. The concept serves as a test run in partnership with GO! Retail Group to see the consumer interest in the area. As Patrick Sager, vice president of Disney Store operations, mentioned on the Disney Parks Blog, “The Disney Store Limited Time allows us to bring the Disney Store experience into new communities, deepen our connections with fans, and learn from how they engage with the brand.”  

 

 
During a visit to the store, one notable detail stood out: the location accepts Disney Visa Cards and honors the cardholder discount, but it does not accept Disney gift cards.  At 8 p.m. on a Thursday, the store was packed - a level of foot traffic not seen at a Disney Store in the area for quite some time.  

 
The store features Disney favorites such as plush toys and fan-favorite film merchandise, including Toy Story, Cars, the Princess collection, the Formula 1 collection, and more. Exclusive to this location is New Jersey-themed Disney merchandise sold in tote bags and T-shirts. The T-Shirt and complimentary postcard featured Jersey Icons such as a hockey stick in Newark to represent the New Jersey Devils hockey, a graduation cap to represent the state’s colleges, and food staples like the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and pizza.  

 

 
Disney continues to leave its mark in New Jersey and the tristate area. With the debut of new merchandise, the two other existing stores in New York and New Jersey, Disney on Broadway, and the return of Disney Cruise Line to New York City coming in fall  2027, it's safe to say Disney is ready to keep on bringing the magic and imagination to the Garden State and beyond.
