Disney Announces its Newest Movies, Series, and Shows at D23.

Disney went all out with their announcements at this year’s D23 event. Fans walked away with a roadmap stretching through 2029, packed with franchise favorites, sequels, and new films that continue to show the strengths of Disney.  

 

Disney gives us a four part finale to end the year off right in both the theaters and on Disney+. In October VisionQuest, an 8-episode Marvel series, lands on Disney+, before Season 3 of Percy Jackson and The Olympian arrives in November on Disney+. To close out 2026, two new movies head to the theaters including Hexed in November and the long-anticipated Avengers Doomsday.  

 

The 2026 finale was a warmup for 2027 which gives us something to cheer and scream for. Coming to theaters in 2027 include Ice Age: Boiling Point, a new addition to 'a galaxy far, far away' in Star Wars: Starfighter, The Bluey Movie, The Simpsons Movie, and in November Frozen 3 releases in theaters. You can also catch Season 2 of Ahsoka and Kingdom Hearts on Disney+ next year.  

 

2028 brings our favorite stories back to new life again with a live-action Tangled and a live action Lilo & Stitch 2. Disney also gives us new films like Incredibles 3, Ghost Market, X-Men, and Clay as well as Season 2 of The Imagineering Story on Disney+. 

 

Disney capped its announcements off with a single reveal for 2029 but it's a big one. Coco 2 is officially in development, promising another journey into the vibrant afterworld. 

 

Disney’s next three years aren’t just packed - they’re a full buffet of nostalgia, new adventure, and bold swings. Whether you’re lining up at the theater or settling in on the couch with Disney+, Disney will have you set with all new things to watch.
