The Seton Hall hockey team was looking to stay hot as they played in their first home game of the season. They indeed lived up to that hope, as they took down the West Chester Golden Rams, 5-0, on Saturday.
Coming into this game, Seton Hall has outscored their opponents 13-3, skating to an easy 2-0 record. The first matchup on the season was an 8-0 rout over Monmouth on Sept. 25. The second contest was another Seton Hall win, as they beat up Princeton 5-3 on Oct. 1.

The Pirates wanted to keep the offensive attack going as they looked around their home arena for the first time in well over a year. However, Seton Hall also knew they would have to roll without their leading scorer, Cam Toussaint, who was suspended for one game.
However, that did not seem to hurt the Pirates as they came out hot, peppering shots on net left and right. Westchester goalie Ian Romig did his best to stop the attack, but the puck was destined to go in eventually.
That would come to fruition in the form of a Tyler Fearon goal in the first period, which was his second of the season. Jimmy Griffin and Alex Romano were credited with assists on the goal, giving Seton Hall a 1-0 lead early in the first.

It wouldn't take much longer for the Pirates to attack again. This time it was from Thomas Healy, his second goal this season. Nicholas Mangano and Griffin were able to find Healy on the left side of the goal, giving him a perfect shot.

The score would stay 2-0 throughout the second period, behind excellent goalkeeping from John McCarthy and good defensive work from both squads. A roughing penalty from West Chester forward Franklin Black led to a powerplay attempt for the Pirates and an eventual goal, which was soon called back because of a penalty. However, the Pirates would walk out for the third period still ahead 2-0, hoping to stay in control.
They certainly answered that hope. While McCarthy blocked everything that came his way, Roming broke down in the third and final period. The first came from John Anselmo as he flew past Ram's defense and grabbed his first goal of the year.

Soon after, Nicholas Serapiglia got a goal of his own off a nice pass from Cam Adamec, putting the game out of reach at 4-0. With only 48 seconds left in the game, Adamec decided he wanted to be a part of the goal party, moving the final score to 5-0 as time expired.
GOAL! Scored by #61 Nick Serapiglia! Pirates lead 4-0 with 7:26 left in the 3rd period
