Seton Hall Athletics

With four games left in the season, the Seton Hall Pirates (16-10, 9-7 CONF) are looking to take the season series and defeat the DePaul Blue Demons (13-13, 6-9 CONF) on the road. The Pirates will look to go 2-0 in the season series vs the Blue Demons for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

The Pirates last game was against DePaul at Walsh Gymnasium, where they won 89-82 with big scoring performances from Lauren Park-Lane, who had 39 points, and Sidney Cooks, who had 29 points. The Pirates will need another big game from the duo if they want to get the job done again on the road this time.

After a rough game against Villanova, Lauren Park-Lane bounced back in a spectacular way, scoring a career high in points with 39 and getting season highs in minutes with 40 and in free throws made and attempted going 15 for 19 from the line.

She also recorded nine assists, showing her impact was not only in the scoring aspect of the Pirates’ win.

Sidney Cooks is on the brink of history, as scoring only three more points in Wednesday’s game will give her 1,000 career points with the Pirates. Cooks should easily earn the outstanding accomplishment as she’s had 20-plus points in the past four games. On Monday, she tied her season high in points, scoring 29 and shooting 4-of-6 from behind the arc.

On the other side of the ball is a gritty DePaul team that will be looking to get revenge on The Hall. DePaul will have to rely on their main source of scoring Aneesah Morrow, who scored 22 points against the Pirates on Monday.

Morrow is on a scoring tear, scoring 20-plus points in the past seven games. Morrow in her last 10 of 12 games has recorded double-doubles including her last game against the Pirates.

Darrione Rogers is another player Seton Hall will need to keep in check as she scored 22 points against them in the last matchup. Averaging 5.3 assists on the season ranks her 22nd in the country in average assists, showing she is another focal point of the Blue Demon offense.

With four more games in the season, this game can prove to be crucial in the Pirates chances of making the NCAA Tournament and avoiding the WNIT.
