ife Of Agony's Calling From the Underground Unsigned Band Contest" presented by WSOU

WSOU FM and Life Of Agony are looking for one local unsigned artist to open for Life Of Agony at their upcoming record release show in New York City. The show will take place on Friday, April 28th at Irving Plaza - the very same day that band's new album 'A Place Where There's No More Pain' drops from Napalm Records.

Life of Agony first appeared on WSOU in the early nineties as an unsigned act on WSOU's Street Patrol. Their demo "The Stain Remains" connected with audiences all over the NY/NJ area and shortly after, LOA was given the opportunity to open for Overkill, Type O Negative and Biohazard at The Ritz in New York City. This event helped the band land a record deal with Roadrunner Records to release their now classic "River Runs Red" album in 1993.

With Life of Agony's 5th studio album 'A Place Where There's No More Pain' about to be released, they would like to give back to the local underground scene that helped launch their career and give another band the same opportunity they had.

Hosted by WSOU's Street Patrol, 1 winner will be selected by the WSOU staff to open for LOA at Irving Plaza in New York City on April 28th. The winner will also receive regular rotation (Local Spotlight) airplay on the station.

Starting on Wednesday, February 1st and ending on April 14th. Applicants can E-Mail their material to wsoustreetpatrol@gmail.com with "LOA Contest" in the subject line. Or mail their material to WSOU at the address below. The winner will be chosen and announced on April 19th.
