Shawn Roarke to Guest DJ!

Shawn Roarke, senior managing editor of NHL.com and co-host of the podcast Metal Misconduct, will make a guest DJ appearance on WSOU 89.5 FM from 1 –3 p.m. tomorrow, October 1, 2014. During his time on the air, Shawn will be paired with WSOU DJ, sportscaster and resident hockey fanatic Anthony DiPaolo. A longtime fan of metal, Shawn will be playing some of his favorite songs and discussing sports and music alike.  
"Many metal fans are also hockey fans, so we know that our listeners will be excited to hear Shawn on WSOU," says station program director Steve Varsanyi.

"Shawn is extremely knowledgeable about the music WSOU plays. It is going to be fun to have him on the air." Shawn been covering professional hockey for 18 years, including 13 Stanley Cup Final series, two Winter Olympics and two World Cup of Hockey tournaments. For more than 5 years he has served as the senior managing editor at NHL.com, the League's official website. During his career, Shawn has also covered the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, professional boxing and Major League Soccer. In 2011, Shawn launched, along with Brian Slagal, the founder and CEO of Metal Blade Records, a specialty podcast devoted to metal and sports - Metal Misconduct. Co-hosted by Shawn and Brian, Metal Misconduct features interviews with musicians and athletes as hosts and guests talk metal, sports, and more.

 WSOU 89.5 FM, which began broadcasting in 1948, is the student-run radio station of Seton Hall University. Celebrated for its loud rock format and coverage of Seton Hall athletics, WSOU's signal reaches all five boroughs of New York City and much of northern and central New Jersey and is available on iHeartRadio and through www.wsou.net.
