In a 90-75 victory over Georgetown last Wednesday night at the Rock, the Seton Hall men’s basketball team had four Pirates in double-figures, with Myles Powell leading the charge with his fifth 30 point game this season.

The Pirates went on a 23-9 run against the Hoyas to start the game, and edged Georgetown in field goal and 3-point shooting with 49.2 and 44.0 percent, respectively.

The Hall’s five starters contributed to 94.4 percent of the team’s scoring efforts whereas the Hoyas had 31 points come off the bench for 41.3 percent of their total points.

Seton Hall now looks to extend their winning streak to three games and will face Creighton on Feb. 17 in Omaha, Nebraska. Last weekend the Hall beat Creighton 63-58 at home in a game that was narrowly decided by defense.

The Pirates and Bluejays had very similar offensive numbers ending the game with eight and seven fast-break points, 33.3 and 30.3 field goal percentages, and 80.0 and 76.9 free-throw percentages, respectively. Both teams has 22 points in the paint.

The Hall defended at the perimeter and limited Creighton to an uncharacteristic 28.6 percent from behind the arc. Creighton ranks fifth among all Division I teams in both 3-point percentage (40.5) and 3-pointers made (11.0) and have 682 attempted threes on the season.

Creighton has four players averaging double-figures this season with Ty-Shon Alexander leading with 16.4 points per game. However in the last matchup between these teams on Feb. 9, junior Martin Krampelj was the Pirates’ hitch with his double-double, scoring 25 points and grabbing 11 boards.

The Bluejays are currently on a three-game skid with their latest loss to Xavier on Wednesday, with a final score of 64-61. In their last three games, they have been out-scored on average by five points per game.

Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. with coverage starting at 2:45 p.m. on 89.5 FM WSOU, wsou.net and WSOU on iHeartRadio.
