Beatles’ Drummer Ringo Starr Celebrates 76th Birthday

Ringo Starr celebrates his 76th birthday on Thursday, July 7, 2016. The English rocker, most known as the drummer for the Beatles, will hold a worldwide celebration at noon on his birthday. Starr posted a YouTube video telling his fans what he wants for his birthday. His wish is for people to raise their hands in the form of peace signs and say “Peace and Love.” The event is called #PeaceAndLove, which is a cause that Starr has been promoting throughout his entire career.

The event will be held at the Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, California where there will be special guests and musicians. Dave Stewart, John Stevens, Alberta Cross, and Vendaveer will performing songs originally by Starr.

Ringo Starr is one of the two surviving members of the Beatles. Though known as the drummer for the Beatles, Starr also sang lead vocals on several songs including“With a Little Help from My Friends” and “Yellow Submarine.” He also took part in writing several songs including “Don’t Pass Me By” and “Flying.”

To help celebrate Starr’s birthday, he encourages fans to share photos and messages on social media using the hashtag #PeaceAndLove.
