The Seton Hall Women (12-6) trailed for just 36 seconds on their way to a 108-65-win Wednesday night over the Xavier Musketeers (4-9). The Pirates were the best they have been this season on the offensive side of things, shooting 62% from the field and going 17 of 28 from three setting a new program record for three pointers made in a game.

Three Pirates scored more than 20. Andra Espinoza-Hunter led the way with 25 points while Mya Jackson and Victoria Keenan each added 21. Espinoza-Hunter and Jackson made five threes each and Keenan was a perfect seven for seven from behind the arc.

Following a rare poor shooting performance from Lauren Park-Lane and Espinoza-Hunter, the pair looked to get back on track against the Musketeers. LPL did that and then some, setting the program record for assists in a game with 15, yes 15, to go along with 17 points to record her first career double double. While Espinoza Hunter went nine of 13 from the floor and five of eight from three.

Halfway through the first quarter the Musketeers led 11-8 before the Pirates went on a 33-5 run that stretched until the seven-minute mark in the second quarter. The Hall did not let up in the second half, outscoring the Musketeers 30-15 in the third quarter, taking a 38-point lead into the fourth quarter.

Although overshadowed on the offensive end of the floor Desiree Elmore held it down for the Pirates on the defensive end, pulling down eight boards, recording one block, and four steals to go along with her eight points and eight rebounds. The Musketeers had three players in double digits, A’riana Gray (17), Kaelynn Satterfield (14), and Shaulana Wagner (11) accounted for 64% of Xavier’s scoring.

The Pirates return to action this Saturday at 8 when the travel to the Finneran Pavilion on the campus of Villanova University to take on the Wildcats.
