The Seton Hall women’s soccer team were looking to bounce back after a tough five-game losing streak but unfortunately did not prevail after losing to Georgetown, 3-0. Despite winning their first game of the season against St. Joseph’s University, The Hall have been struggling to secure a win in the Big East Conference.

In the first half, the Pirates started off strong with four shots taken early but none were conceded. The Hoyas had 11 attempted shots overall in the first half with one being a goal in the 28th minute of the game. The goal was scored by sophomore forward, Gia Vicari and assisted by senior forward, Jenna Menta. Seton Hall’s goalie, Grace Gordon, had five saves in the first half.

In the second half, Georgetown dominated and overwhelmed the Pirates with their continued attack. The Hoyas scored their second goal 30 seconds into the half. The goal was scored by the graduate defensive midfielder, Kaitlyn Parcell and assisted by Vicari. Seton Hall wasn’t able to take a single shot in the second half, while Georgetown had another 11 shots on goal. Georgetown’s third goal was scored in the 64th minute by senior defensive midfielder, Kelly Ann Livingstone. SHU’s Grace Gordon ended the game with a career high seven saves.

Looking forward, the Pirates will now shift their focus to their upcoming match where they will face off against St. John’s. This will be their second time meeting this season after previously losing to the Red Storm on March 7, 1-2 in overtime. The game will be held at the Owen T. Carroll Field in South Orange, N.J. on March 25 at 6:00 p.m. Coverage of the game will be available on 89.5 WSOU.
