Along with its mix of modern active rock and community and Catholic programming, WSOU is also the leader in coverage of Seton Hall athletics. The station  currently broadcasts at 2400 watts in HD Radio, making it a destination for Pirate fans in the New Jersey/New York market.Baseball WSOU Sports covers Seton Hall's athletic teams, specifically men's and women's basketball games, select soccer and baseball games.  Online listening of WSOU nearly doubles when men’s basketball games are broadcast!

Part of the WSOU Sports programming lineup is the ever-popular "Hall Line" post-men's basketball call-in show.  Following each men’s basketball game is Hall Line, a post game call-in show that allows Pirate fans the chance to share their thoughts about the game and/or the team.

Prudential Center

Barring extenuating circumstances, Hall Line is always broadcast live from the site of the game.  Hosted by WSOU Sports' student staff, Hall Line has been on the air since the 1960s. It currently is the longest-running sports program at WSOU.

Outside of live game broadcasts and Hall Line, WSOU brings to you more sports coverage every Sunday night. Check out our lineup below!

From the Stands

Every Sunday night, tune in from 6 to 7 p.m. as our team of sports analysts break down the world of professional sports on From The Stands. Hosted by Assistant Sports Directors David Rind and Tim LeCras, you will hear discussion and debate about all of the major sports.

Since May, the show has experienced major content changes with the program taking a more local focus, compared to in years past.  We now cater to the teams in the NY/NJ area – from the Mets and Yankees to the Giants and Jets and everyone in between!

Also instituted in the changes are three different show segments.  “Take It or Leave It” allows the analysts to participate in a friendly debate and claim a firm stance on a controversial topic. “Quick Hits” puts the analysts in the hot seat as they have minimal time to voice their opinion on more nationally-focused sports topics.  Finally, in “The Last Word” the analysts have their own 30-second soapbox to vent or praise a sports-based story, closing the program with topics that might not have been discussed earlier.  Callers are encouraged to participate in From The Stands and share their professional sports thoughts with the analysts and the WSOU listening audience.

Pirate Primetime

From 7 to 8 p.m., tune into Pirate Primetime, the show that talks about Seton Hall athletics every time, all the time.  Hosted by Sports Director Brian Wisowaty and co-hosted by Pat McCabe, a trio of “Pirate professionals” will break down the Hall’s assortment of athletic teams each week, from soccer to baseball and everything in between.

From October through March, the show focuses on the men’s and women’s basketball teams as they try to conquer the Big East Conference and move into contention for postseason play in the NCAA Tournament.  There are also guest interviews and special analysts during all of the athletic seasons to keep you informed about all of the Pirates’ endeavors.  As with Seton Hall athletics, the program takes a four-month-long hiatus during the summer.

Callers are always welcome as Pirate Primetime is the nexus of discussion for the Pirate faithful.  Pirate Primetime is just another reason why WSOU Sports is your leader in coverage of Seton Hall athletics.
