WSOU to Air  Lost and Deep Tracks in Celebration of Labor Day Weekend

Date: September 2, 2015

South Orange, N.J. – As part of its Labor Day weekend festivities, WSOU 89.5 FM will be playing deep and lost tracks from the metal, punk, and hardcore bands that make up the core of the station’s loud rock format. Songs to be aired include early Metallica, Slipknot rarities, and tracks by the Dead Kennedys that are still influencing music today.

“This will be a great weekend for our listeners to rediscover a song they haven’t heard in a while or never knew existed,” said Steve Varsanyi, WSOU program director. “Doing research for this Labor Day weekend special has been really enlightening for me and I know that fans of our music will learn a lot as they listen along with us.”

This Friday, Saturday, and Labor Day, WSOU will also be giving listeners a chances to win to tickets to The Food Truck and Rock Carnival in Clark, NJ (http://therockcarnival.com/) and the NY Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, NY (http://www.renfair.com/ny/).  The opportunity to hear great hard rock music as well as to win tickets is a perfect way for workers and students alike to celebrate Labor Day and close out the summer of 2015.
