WSOU Rewinds to the Nineties for Thanksgiving

Date: November 21, 2017

South Orange, N.J. – WSOU 89.5 FM, the student-run radio station of Seton Hall University, will celebrate Thanksgiving and kick off the holiday season by rewinding to the nineties, providing chances to win exclusive prize packs, and proffering station store discount specials.

WSOU starts the long Thanksgiving weekend on Wednesday, November 22 at 6 a.m. with blocks of metal and hard rock from the 1990s at the top of each hour.  WSOU’s rewind to the nineties continues throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

“Rocking out to music from the nineties is something we know our listeners and their families enjoy doing together,” said Program Director Garren Lewis.  “Whether it’s cooking in the kitchen or driving to the mall, our Thanksgiving music programming will give everyone the lift they need to survive the long holiday weekend.”

As attention turns from turkey to commerce on Friday, WSOU will be treating listeners to two special opportunities – the chance to win exclusive Pentakill Prize Packs and Black Friday discounts at the station’s online store.

Pentakill is the groundbreaking virtual heavy metal band spawned from the League of Legends gaming universe.  The band members include Tommy Lee of Motley Crüe, Danny Lohner (formerly of Nine Inch Nails), Battle Beast songstress Noora Louhimo, and renowned Norwegian hard rock and heavy metal vocalist Jorn Lande, among others.  WSOU’s exclusive Pentakill Prize Packs include a collectible Pentakill backstage laminate, collectible Pentakill concert ticket, three Pentakill guitar picks, a Pentakill bracelet and three Pentakill patches. Listeners will have the chance to call in to win these prize packs on Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25.

To help start off the season of giving, the WSOU online store at wsou.net will have discounts up to 40% off on select items Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

“The holidays can be stressful, so WSOU will be there at the side of our listeners for some stress release through a little musical mayhem.” added Lewis.
