Women's soccer defeated 4-0 by Marquette

The Hall ended their season with a 0-9 Big East record as the fell 4-0 to the Golden Eagles in the final game of the season.

The Pirates kept the first half competitive, as the first goal allowed came in the 42nd minute by Katie Kike assisted by Carrie Madden to give Marquette a 1-0 edge.

Entering the second half, the Pirates struggled finding the net and only recorded three shots compared to Marquette’s 10.

In the 74th minute Abby Hess scored from 10 yards out for Marquette to extend the lead over Seton Hall 2-0. In the 87th minute, Heather Handwork scored her first goal of the season, and about one minute later teammate Carrie Madden notched her third goal on the season with a header from the left flank.

Marquette edged the Pirates with 16 shots to nine on goal as the Katrina Wetherell accounted for six shots of her own.

After starting the season with a hopeful 2-2-1 record, the Seton Hall women’s soccer team was unable to maintain consistency and struggled offensively in the remainder of the season. The Pirates finished the regular season with an overall record of 2-12-4, and will look to the off season to develop the young talent on the team and scouting new players as the Hall will lose seven players to graduation.
