The Seton Hall women’s basketball team finished their road trip 0-2, with the last loss coming at the hands of the Creighton Bluejays by a score of 80-71.

Seton Hall got off to a hot start with their largest lead of the half (10) coming at the end of the first quarter. Desiree Elmore led the way with 13 points in the first half but played less of a role once she picked up her first two fouls. On the other side, Aubrey Faber anchored Creighton with 11 points in the first half. Despite the Pirates’ big lead in the first quarter, the Bluejays were able to come back and go into halftime with only a five point deficit.

The start of the second half was all Seton Hall as they jumped out to a 14-point lead early in the third quarter led by Inja Butina, who finished the second half with 13 points. It looked like this was going to be the Pirates’ game, but Creighton did not let up.

The Bluejays were down 46-40 at a media timeout in the third quarter and led 52-50 at the end of the third. Creighton took advantage of several Seton Hall players being in foul trouble and jumped out to a to a 16-point lead in the fourth. Despite a late surge by the Pirates, Creighton was able to hold onto the lead and win 80-71.

The Pirates had four players score in the double digits including Butina (16), Elmore (15), Kaela Hilaire (12), and Shadeen Samuels (10). The Bluejays also had 4 players in double digits with Faber (26), Jaylyn Agnew (18), Jade Owens (12), and Olivia Elger (11) all hitting the mark.

With this loss, Seton Hall falls to 14-10 overall and 6-7 in the Big East. The Pirates will be back in action on Friday, February 15th against the DePaul Blue Demons at Walsh Gymnasium in the Seton Hall vs. Cancer Game.
