Seton Hall Introduces Giving Day

Date: April 24, 2018

South Orange, N.J.- Seton Hall University will host the first annual “Seton Hall Giving Day,” a 24-hour challenge from 12:00 p.m. on 4/24/18 to 12:00 p.m. on 4/25/18. In hopes of uniting the University, Giving Day will encourage engagement with alumni and increase funds to provide better opportunities for its students for years to come.

“Seton Hall Giving Day is a way to bring the Pirate Community together,” said Seton Hall’s Associate Director of Annual Giving Leanne Pinard. “Giving back to Seton Hall helps towards providing student scholarships and to continue our campus improvements and initiatives.”

The activities of Giving Day will consist of challenges that are posted across Seton Hall’s social media platforms (www.instagram.com/setonhall/ and https://twitter.com/SetonHall?lang=en). One challenge, called “Professor Shout Out Challenge,” asks students and alumni to post a shout out to a professor that has left a positive impact on him/her with the hashtag #SetonHallGivingDay. More challenges can be discovered on the Seton Hall Giving Day website at https://www.givecampus.com/schools/SetonHallUniversity/seton-hall-giving-day.

Even though Giving Day will be mostly celebrated online, there is also an opportunity for individuals to participate on campus. There is a kickoff event from 12 pm to 3 pm on the campus Green on April 24.

Supporters of WSOU don’t have to be members of the Seton Hall alumni, student, or parent communities to be part of Seton Hall Giving Day.  The station can be supported directly by anyone by making a tax-deductible donation via www.shu.edu/givingday.  Simply select a gift designation of “other” and write in WSOU or the WSOU Student Scholarship Fund.  Thanks!

To help spread awareness of Giving Day, post on social media with the hashtag #SetonHallGiveaway. For more information, visit www.shu.edu/givingday.
