Here is the recap of the stories covered in this week's Pirate News Desk:

-- The first man to orbit around the Earth, John Glenn, died at the age of 95. 

-- Man accused of killing Pedals the Bear filed a defamation lawsuit.

-- Children's toys with internet connection are suspected of data collection and are potentially vulnerable to hacking. 

-- Essex County College student charged with the murder of a New Jersey City University student whose body was discovered at Eagle Rock Reservation.

-- Fraternity, Zeta Psi, is suspended for five years from Seton Hall University.

-- Seton Hall University announced it supports its undocumented students.

-- South Orange is scheduled to change water suppliers on January 1, 2017. The new supplier will be New Jersey American Water. 

-- A holiday celebration will take place in South Orange starting at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 10. The tree lighting at 76 South Orange Ave. starts at 5:15 p.m.

-- Maplewood will have its fourth annual holiday celebration at the Springfield Avenue Gazebo. The event is scheduled from 3-5 p.m.
