Following their week off, Seton Hall traveled to Chicago to face off with the DePaul Blue Demons, as big days from Myles Powell and Angel Delgado put the Pirates back in the win column with an 86-70 win.

Seton Hall came out ready to play with Delgado tying the all-time Big East conference rebounding record formally held by Derrick Coleman on the first defensive possession, and broke the record a minute later. The Pirates kept that momentum into the first media time out, where they led 9-4.

Myles Powell caught fire out of the break with back-to-back threes, giving Seton Hall a comfortable lead, but DePaul would refuse to back down, coming up with a run of their own to stay within four-points of the Pirates with eight minutes remaining in the half. From there however, Seton Hall took control and found themselves with a 43-27 lead after a 9-0 run.

When it came to half-time Seton Hall had a comfortable 46-31 lead with 11-points from Powell, and an eight point, 10 rebound half from Delgado. The Pirates bench also made their presence known with 19 points, playing a large part in Seton Hall's early success.

The Pirates continued where they left off in the second half of action, maintaining a 15-point lead at the first media timeout. Seton Hall made their move shortly after when a Carrington three-pointer gave Seton Hall their largest lead of the game at 64-46.

The Blue Demons of DePaul refused to back down however, as they followed the Pirates lead with aggressive defense and a 9-0 run to cut the lead to eight. Shortly after, it was Myles Powell who brought the lead back up to double-digits with a corner three leading into the time out, then followed up with another one behind the arc out of the break. After a Desi Rodriguez layup, Seton Hall found themselves back up by 15.

DePaul continued to battle, but the Pirates maintained control and came away with an 86-70 victory. Myles Powell led the way with 21 points and Angel Delgado came one rebound shy of a 20 rebound day.

The Pirates will return home for their next match up against the Providence Friars on Wednesday at the Rock where they look to gain momentum in the heart of conference play. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m.
