In the first game of the Sam Houston State Tournament on Friday, Seton Hall was no-hit by Northern Colorado's Valerie Vidal in a 5-0 defeat.

The game started out slow with Reganne Camp notching two strikeouts through three innings. It was in the top of the fourth inning when Northern Colorado got on the board first with a solo homerun from Jordyn Wiatrak. There would be no runners for either team in the fifth, but UNC was able to get two runners on base with no outs, the Pirates were able to get two outs but not able to escape the inning before Northern Colorado got another player across home plate.

The Pirates continued to struggle at the plate, only getting runners on through three walks. The Bears then added to their lead in the top of the seventh with three runs. Vidal then closed out the game with a strikeout and concluded the Bears first no-hitter since 2006.

The Pirates then continued their day against the host Sam Houston State, where a sixth inning rally fueled them to a 10-6 win. The Bearkats got off to an early lead with a 3-0 start in the first inning. By the third inning the Sam Houston State doubled their lead and the Hall wouldn't get on the scoreboard until the fourth inning when freshman Janea Barracato hit her first career home run and Payton Beaver had an RBI single. Jaden Tate would then get an RBI with a sac fly in the bottom of the fifth inning.

In the sixth inning the Pirates exploded with a seven run inning to put the Hall up 10-6. Ragen Reddick hit a two-run double to cap off the Pirates' cascade of runs.

The Pirates will resume action on Saturday against Wichita State and then immediately after against No. 4 Washington.
