Pirates Grab Huge Road Victory over No. 17 Louisville

Seton Hall Pirates (7-1) defeated the No.17 Louisville (6-2) 77-75 at the KFC Yum Center on Sunday.
The win came thanks to a jumper made by Desi Rodriguez with eight seconds left on the clock. The senior also came down with the defensive rebound after a missed shot by Quentin Snider to end the game.
Rodriguez led the way for the Pirates, having 27 points with 19 coming in the first half. The Bronx Native shot 12-18 (66.7 percent) having eight rebounds (six defensive), and had four steals on the night.
The Pirates had a strong first half defensively. Seton Hall forced the Cardinals to turn eight turnovers along with turning five steals in the first half. The Pirates kept Louisville to 2-11 (18.2 percent) from three while keeping all Louisville players to under double-digit scoring. The Pirates shot 14-33 (42.2 percent) from the field while shooting 3-12 (25 percent) from three. The Pirates made the first basket of the game and kept that lead until Louisville tied it up and took to the lead with two minutes to play in the half.
Louisville came out shooting in the second half, going on a 10-0 run at one point. Seton Hall ended up scoring 41 points in the second half, 12 of which came from Khadeen Carrington. While Rodriguez only shot 5-9 (55.5 percent) and was 0-3 from behind the arc, Carrington and Myles Powell came through for the Pirates.
Carrington had 18 points on the night while shooting 5-9 from the field, and Powell finished with 13 points after hitting his head off the court in the first half. Powell shot 3-8 (37.5 percent) from three, with one of those threes coming with 90 seconds left in the game. Angel Delgado recorded his fifth double-double of the season and 55th of his career with 10 points and 13 boards.
As a team, Seton Hall dominated in the paint scoring 40 points compared to Louisville's 26. Seton Hall's bench struggled in the win, only scoring three points
Kevin Willard picks up his first win vs Louisville and is now 1-6 against the Cardinals while the Pirates pick up their sixth win over their former BIG EAST rival in 19 games.
