Interview with Tuomas of Nightwish

On the new album:

"Well from minute one you can definitely hear that it is Nightwish. All the classic elements are there, but of course we always bring something new to the equation as well: there are certain instruments we haven't done before, there's the longest track we have ever did, also the thematics of the album, some of the lyrics deal with things Nightwish hasn't done before, so there is a lot of new as well..."

On the themes of the new albums:

"One way of putting it would be that the previous album was a tribute to the power of imagination, and then this new album is a tribute to the power of the magic of reality and nature, science, and everything it has to offer."

On being an influence to other bands:

"Well, I don't really think about that because we have our heroes as well... So we have our idols as well, and if we have been able to influence some other bands that is just flattering, but I've never come across a copy-cat band or anything like this, and I'm a big fan of symphonic metal bands myself..."
