NFL teams to watch during training camp

Date: July 19, 2019

As teams prepare for training camp, looking to begin their journey for the 2019-2020 season, let’s take a deeper look into which teams are better situated to contend for a Super Bowl title in the upcoming NFL season.

Although not impossible, it’s rather difficult to know which teams will be contending for the Vince Lombardi Trophy this January. Almost no one expected the Chiefs to be what they were last season, before Patrick Mahomes took the league by storm by dominating ever opponent he faced.

If not for a questionable penalty called on the defense in the AFC Championship, we might be talking about a different super bowl champion. Lamar Jackson came out of nowhere as well to put his mark on the league, letting everyone know that the next version of Michael Vick has arrived.

The sensational rookie season that Baker Mayfield had should not be forgotten about. As of now, Mayfield has ended an exaggerated number of consecutive busts at the quarterback position for the Cleveland Browns.

Many believe that he will be the next best quarterback in the league, along with Mahomes. Predicting what might happen an NFL season is extremely challenging, especially this early on in the process. But let’s have some fun and do it anyway.

First of all, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will once again be contending for a title as the season winds down. People keep saying his time is up, and he keeps proving everybody wrong. That is not to say they are going to win, but they will certainly be in the mix of things when it comes down to it.

Favorites

Along with the Patriots in the AFC, the other contenders will be the Kansas City Chiefs, only this time the Chiefs are believed to have the edge. They are young, feisty, talented, and have something to prove.

The favorites in the NFC are the Saints and the Rams. The Saints will give it one last go with Drew Brees at the helm. The Rams gained traction last season; therefore expectations will increase for them this season.

Contenders

In the AFC, the Colts should be nominated as the most dangerous team, with Andrew Luck running the show, they could become unexpectedly unstoppable. The Houston Texans could also be a serious contender as they are also young and desperate for some success. Deshaun Watson is a bad man!

The NFC will once again be very competitive, and the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears have the best shot to take down the top two teams. Ezekiel Elliot can lead his team to the Promised Land while the Bears’ special teams unit has something to prove and that makes them dangerous.

Surprises

The Pittsburgh Steelers are ready to shock the world. With no expectations and no distractions, Mike Tomlin will have his team more determined than ever.

“Don’t forget about me!” exclaims Aaron Rodgers as he reads this article. Rodgers should not worry because he has not been forgotten. Nobody is talking about the Green Bay Packers this year, but with one of the best quarterbacks in the league, they could easily surprise countless people.

Regardless of whether these predictions are right or not, NFL fans are sure in for a treat going into the 2019-2020 NFL Season.
