Seton Hall
New Music 9/14
Date: September 14, 2015Here is the new music for this week:
Atreyu - I would Kill, Lie, Die For you
This
new Atreyu album is a serious return to their original sound that made
them big in the first place. This is the first album that they released
since they broke up and got back together, and they wanted to make sure
that they were making music that they really believed in again.
RIYL: Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, All That RemainsReflections - Amulet
Whenever
a band has a name of "plural one word-noun" (ex: Reflections, Volumes,
Structures, Monuments, etc) you pretty much know how they're going to
sound. Reflections is one of the biggest bands in the plural one
word-noun djent scene today, and this album feels hevaier than anything
that they've done before.
RIYL: Volumes, Structures, After the Burial
TesseracT - Messenger
Easily
one of the most influential bands in the progressive djent scene.
They've switched to a mostly clean singing style, compared to their mix
of both in previous albums, but fans and critics did not complain at
all.
RIYL: Periphery, Textures, Veil of Maya
Stratovarius - My Eternal Dream
Stratovarius - My Eternal Dream
Stratovarius
have been heading the symphonic/power metal movement for a while, with
very little change in their sound. Its crazy to think that they've been a
band since the early 80s, but their staying power has been incredibly
impressive.
RIYL: Eguy, Avantasia, Gamma Ray
Old school, California hardcore who are considered one of the most influential acts in the more punky, California hardcore scene. This was originally intended to be released when they were a band in 1994, but now it is being released with them having a much bigger following than they ever did.
RIYL: Chkehold, 108, Morning Again
Of Feather and Bone - Ignore Their Remorse
Of Feather and Bone - Ignore Their Remorse
Coming
from a really up and coming Denver scene (Primitive Man and Call of the
Void) Of Feather and Bone have really been picking up steam lately.
Their music is in the vein of of the more beat down hardcore like
Nails.
RIYL: Nails, Axis, Cult Leader
White Widows Pact - The Landlord
White Widows Pact - The Landlord
An
incredibly heavy metalcore/hardcore band, right from Brooklyn, NY. The
singer, Dave, also sings in Primitive Weapons and is the co-owner of the
St. Vitus Bar, so he is an incredibly prominent member in the New York
metal scene.
RIYL: Meek is Murder, Gaza, Tiger FlowersIf you see something you like, request it. WSOU is the proud home of the newest and loudest!
