Seton Hall
New Music 8/3/15
Date: August 3, 2015Here's the new music added this week:
Trivium - Silence in the Snow
This
new song was written in the Shogun Trivium days, and you can easily
tell that from the instrumental work, but the singing is almost
power/symphonic metal influenced. It is crazy how good of a singer Matt
Heafy has become recently. RIYL: Killswitch Engage, In Flames, Wovenwar
Clutch - X-Ray Visions
You
should know what to expect from new Clutch at this point, but this is
one of the catchiest Clutch songs that I've heard. I was lucky enough to
see the band play the new album live, and it is probably one of their
best efforts to date so keep your eyes out for this one!
RIYL: Fu Manchu, Orange Goblin, Corrosion of Conformity
Motorhead - Electrcity
Motorhead
have perfected the Motorhead formula. This sounds exactly how you'd
think a Motorhead song would sound, but that is not a bad thing at all.
RIYL: Motorhead
Fear Factory - Soul Hacker
I'm
getting a real Edgecrusher vibe from this track, but so does Dino, so I
can't be too off base on that. But like two tracks above, they really
stuck true to their formula on this song. If you liked Fear Factory,
even a little but, you'll love this.
RIYL: Chimaira, Coal Chamber, Soulfly
Russkaja - Slap Your Face
This
is easily one of the most interesting things that I have ever heard.
They describe themselves as Russia Turbo Polka, which basically
translates to Russian ska. Along with this song, they have some
hilarious covers of Roar by Katy Perry. Get Lucky by Daft Punk and Wake
me Up by Avicii.
RIYL: Ska
Chemical Burn - I Rise, I Fly
A
really cool groove metal band from the Bay Area, California. This album
was produced by Juan Ureaga (Exodus, Testament, Machine Head, Cattle
Decapitation, basically every California band you can think of) so you
know it's going to be good.
RIYL: Lamb of God, DevilDriver, God Forbid
If you see something you like, be sure to request it! We'll be playing all of these tracks and more on 89.5 FM WSOU!
