New Music 8/17

Date: August 17, 2015

Here's the new music for this week:

Iron Maiden - Speed of Light

Brand new Iron Maiden! Seriously, Bruce's voice hasn't changed in years and this song follows what he's been doing for years. I doubt this needs too much of an introduction so I'll just leave it at that.

RIYL: Iron Maiden

Bullet for my Valentine - Army of Noise

One of the thrashier songs I've heard from Bullet. It really has vibes from Trivium's Crusade album, with more screams in the middle. Easily one of Bullet's heavier albums, especially since the Poison. They are just finishing up a tour with Slipknot, Lamb of God and Motionless in White, so expect this album to blow up as that is the biggest metal tour this summer.

RIYL: Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Trivium

Butcher Babies - The Cleansing

In the last couple years it seems like the Butcher Babies have blown up from almost nowhere. Like BFMV, they also have a huge thrash influence, as they said they wanted to go back to a more thrashy sound than the direction they went with for their 2013 release "Goliath".

RIYL: Huntress, Nervosa, Cripper

Ahab - Red Foam (The Great Storm)

One of the biggest bands in the very niche Funeral Doom Metal market. A lot of their songs are about Moby DIck, and even their name is drawn from Captain Ahab, a character in Moby Dick. But if you like doomy guitars with deathy lyrics, you'll love this.

RIYL: Sun O))), Primitive Man, Paradise Lost
