New Music for 7/6/15
Date: July 6, 2015Here's the first batch of new music for the month!
Failure - Otherwhere
A super popular alt
metal band from the 90s, who released their last album in 96. They
really pioneered the sound of a lot of hard rock/alt metal bands that
are making music today. Queens of the Stone guitarist,Troy Van Leeuwen,
also did guitars on half this album (which is an amazing 18 songs long)
RIYL: Queens of the Stone Age, Helmet, Nine Inch Nails
Yuth Forever - Ugly
They used to be called Villains, then they got a C&D because another band was called Villains. Then they were called Yuth, only to receive another C&D from an act named Yuth. Now they're yuth Forever and they sound just like they did when they were Villains.
RIYL: Barrier, Sworn In, Gift Giver
All out War - Servants to the Obsolete
A really hardcore thrash band from New York who are really pissed off about a lot of things and have made a career spanning 11 albums and EPs talking about how mad they are. If you're a fan of anything thrash or hardcore you'll dig this
RIYL: Earth Crisis, Ringworm, Iron Reagan
Unleash the Archers - Hall of the Tide
Your monthly dose of female fronted power metal is here. it is pretty straight up power metal for the most part, but it is broken up by some pretty heavy death metal vocals, which are short lived in the song, but really add a different element to your usual power metal song.
RIYL: Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation
The Maension - Labyrinth
The Maension are a hard rock/metal band that really remind me of A Perfect Circle and Tool. This is some serious Maynard James Keenan worship, but in a very good way.If you like 90s hard rock/metal you'll love this.
RIYL: , A Perfect Circle, Tool, Deftones
If you see something you like, make a request to the DJ. Expect to hear all of these tracks only here on 89.5 FM!
