New Music for 6/1/15

Date: June 1, 2015
Along with these being added, the Lorna Shore and Nekrogoblikon songs are being switched out for new ones!

Senses Fail - The Importance of the Moment of Death
Although not as hardcore as their 2013 release, Reancer, Senses Fail still packs a heavier punch than what they're usually known for in this song and album. The song is all about being brave, which probably is about the singer, Buddy's, personal battles in the last couple years.
RIYL: Chiodos, The Ghost Inside, Modern Life is War

Battlecross - Not Your Slave
This band is on the verge of becoming one of the bigger bands in modern metal, especially in their genre of death/thrash. Along with being amazingly talented, they are probably one of the most fun bands to see live and they're just about to get ready to tour with Crowbar (coming to St. Vitus on June 29th!)
RIYL: Revocation, Sylosis, Exmortus

Helloween - Battle's Won
One of the biggest European power metal bands comes back for their 15th album. A lot of the songs in this album, and the overlying theme of leaving Earth was inspired by the movie "The Day After Tomorrow"
RIYL: Blind Guardian, Masterplan, Gamma Ray

Paradise Lost - No Hope In Sight
This will be Paradise Lost's 14th album but it is hard to remember that after how many times they have changed their sound. After starting off with a death metal/doom sound, they have tried out gothic, industrial, synthpop, and alternative to name a few but with the singer, Nick Holmes, being in Bloodbath, they have transitioned back to a Death metal inspired sound and have not missed a beat.
RIYL: Bloodbath, My Dying Bride, Katatonia

Leprous - Third Law
Leprous' claim to fame comes from being the backing band for the singer of Emperor, (who are one of the biggest black metal bands today) Ihsahn. If you like anything prog, you'll probably love this track
RIYL: Anything Devin Townsend has ever touched, Ihsahn

Armored Saint - Mess
A pure heavy metal band from the 80s who are just about to release their 10th album. Their singer sang for Anthrax for 13 years as well, in between stints with Armored Saint.
RIYL: Anvil, Raven, Saxon

Old Wounds - Never Sleep Again
In your face New Jersey Hardcore. They're playing a WSOU Present's show with The Banner on July 2nd at Asbury Lanes. They'll be releasing their new album "The Suffering Spirit, there as well!
RIYL: Suburban Scum, The Banner, Heavy Chains, NJHC

Expect to hear these tracks this week! We're always excited to get new music. You can hear all of this and more only on 89.5 FM WSOU!
