New Music for 5-25-15
Date: May 25, 2015 Here is the new music added for the week:
Cattle Decapitation - Manufactured Extinct
Your favorite vegan grindcore-ers are back! This song is about how humans and the advancement of technology is decreasing biodiversity and how we are ruining the earth at an unprecedented rate. Seriously, look up the lyrics.
RIYL: Murder Construct, Decrepit Birth, Cephalic Carnage
Straight Line Stitch - Dark Matter
After rumors of their breakup following their 2011 release, Straight Line Stitch is back with an album in 2015! Really cool female fronted Metalcore with a nice mix of heavy and clean vocals
RIYL: iwrestledabearonce, The Agonist, 36 Crazyfists
iwrestledabearonce - Gift of Death
iwrestledabearonce promised their new album would be weirder and heavier than ever before and they definitely deliver on this track. Honestly one of the heaviest songs by them that I have heard. They are rumored to be on the All Stars tour this year, but nothing is confirmed yet.
RIYL: Straight Line Stitch, Arsonists Get All The Girls, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza
We Butter the Bread with Butter - Exorzist
Probably one of my favorite names in music, this song builds off the more serious songwriting they started in their last album. They have a really interesting mix of electronics and metal that works really well for them, which is hard to do.
RIYL: The Browning, iwrestledabearonce, Suicide Silence
Anti-Flag - Sky is Falling
Anti-Flag is back with another album and after being band for almost 30 years now, they are still angry as ever. Cool to see one of the big names in 80s/90s punk still making music that stick true to what they started with.
RIYL: Rise Against, Pennywise, NOFX
Turbowolf - Good Hand
A really fuzzy alternative metal band. Think of Jack White with random heavy vocals in the background with fuzzier guitars and you get this song and band.
RIYL: Royal Thunder, Red Fang, Black Moth
Our Transfixtion - Unanimity
A new band from Illinois that channels an early-2000s Metalcore sound. I get a real As I Lay Dying meets Unearth vibe, especially with the guitar work, on this album
RIYL: Unearth, As I Lay Dying, Killsitch Engage
Expect to hear these tracks this week! We're always excited to get new music. You can hear all this and more only here at 89.5 FM WSOU!
