New Music for 5-11-15

Date: May 11, 2015

Here is the new music added for the week:

Veil of Maya –Teleute: One of the most popular "djent" bands in the scene right now. They just had auditions for their new singer and with that, their sound has changed a bit but it is still the same old Veil of Maya you know and love.

RIYL: Born of Osiris, After the Burial, Within the Ruins

Sirenia –Elixir: A power metal band that also mixes deathy vocals in their songs, so it makes for a really nice and interesting combination.

RIYL: Scar Symmetry, Amaranthe, Into Eternity

Angra  - Perfect Symmetry: The guitarist of this band, Kiko Loureiro, is also the new guitarist for Megadeth, and you can tell why they chose him by the guitar work on this song. Angra are also one of the biggest non-European power metal bands right now.

RIYL: Angra, Symphony X, Epica

Civil War - Admiral Over The Oceans: Four of the dudes from Sabaton left and formed this band and sounds just like what you would think it sounds like. All of their songs are about different wars, too.

RIYL: Sabaton, Kamelot, Edguy

Lorna Shore –Grimoire: An up and coming deathcore band from right around the corner in New Jersey. About to head on a huge tour as the Metal Alliance tour kicks off in just a couple weeks.

RIYL: Whitechapel, Carnifex, The Last Ten Seconds of Life

Valkyrie –Golden Age: The guitarist of Baroness and his brother's band. The whole album has a real Kyuss vibe, with a little more doomy elements sprinkled throughout.

RIYL: Kyuss, Baroness, Old Queens of the Stone Age

Eschaton –Behold The Nexus: A tech-death band out of Connecticut whose album has a real doomsday vibe and theme that runs throughout.

RIYL: Fallujah, Archspire, Fleshgod Apocalypse

Secrets of the Sky –Fosforos: A black/doom band out of Oakland that just formed a couple years ago but already has a recording contract with Metal Blade Records. Although this song is the heaviest and fastest on the album, a lot of their songs break it down and get really atmospheric.

RIYL: Anaal Nathrakh, So Hideous, Swallow the Sun

Expect to hear these tracks this week! We're always excited to get new music. You can hear all that and more only here at 89.5 FM WSOU!
