Date: September 30, 2018

Men’s soccer (4-3-1; 1-2) lost their second conference game Saturday night in a 1-0 defeat against #9 Creighton.

Seton Hall stuck around with their top-ten opponent for the majority of the contest, as goalkeeper, Andreas Nota finished with six saves. Creighton held the edge in shots on goal with 11 in the first half, compared to Seton Hall’s zero, but the Pirates defense stuck in there.

The Pirates had their best scoring opportunity in the 69th minute as they forced a Creighton turnover in the Creighton third of the field. Carlton McKenzie had a shot opportunity from the right side of the box, but missed by inches to keep the game knotted at 0-0.

The 84th minute was when Creighton broke the tie after Younes Boudadi crossed it to Sven Koenig for the game-winning header.

With the loss, the Pirates fall to 4-3-1 and 1-2 in conference play. The Pirates next match will be Saturday October 6, as they travel to Chicago to face off with DePaul at 3 P.M.
