Let Live Interview

Date: August 6, 2015

WSOU's own Adambomb was able to ask Jason from Letlive about touring, writing, and more!

Beneath the excerpts is a full audio version of the interview.

Have you learned anything from touring with Rise against?

Yea, honestly I have had a couple conversations with all of them, and talking about stuff, from the state of music right now and how the climate is very unique. To the state of progressive thought. And even watching them play I've learned a lot about watching a punk band evolve.

Do you think touring with these bands is going to influence your writing?

"I don't think touring will, I think what's so good about this tour is that we all come from different ways sonically, so I'm going to just leave that to them because they're so - good at it."

Could you speak a little on the "Ghost Inside" Track you were featured on?

"Me and John Grew up in towns close to each other, and my first punk shows were in his city and we've just have known each otherfor a long time and he told me what the song was about, we all had friends in different bands and we were having a conversation by text about how some of our songs fit and he asked me to be a part of this, and I'm glad I was able to talk about us growing up and how proud I am of him and what he's done and what we were able to do."

Speaking of inspiration, who's a vocalist that you would say you try to impersonate when you preform?

"Probably James Brown, uhhh, I guess if James Brown was on a date with Henry Rollins. That or Michael Jackson, it's not even that I want to emulate it, it's just so engrained in my mind because that's what I obsessed over for so many years."
