Jordan Walker Reportedly Staying with Seton Hall

Freshman point guard Jordan Walker is reportedly staying with the Seton Hall men's basketball program and will be with the team for tonight's game against Wagner, according to NJ.com. This comes a day after a report by Andrew Slater of 247Sports indicated the freshman guard out of Port Washington, NY was leaving the Pirates.
Jerry Carino of Asbury Park Press also had reported Walker's departure was due to him not playing in Saturday's loss to Rutgers, the first game Walker was healthy after missing a month with a thumb injury. Walker was in uniform on Saturday and participated in pregame warmups.
The Seton Hall athletic department declined to comment on the situation.
The first indicator of Walker's possible return came on Tuesday night, when Myles Powell put up a Snapchat video on his public story with his teammate Jordan Walker, captioned "My son back...he was never leaving."
In the two games that Walker has played this season, he had seven points, four assists, two rebounds, and one steal in 28 total minutes.
The Pirates have a big need at the point guard position. Khadeen Carrington played 34 minutes during the loss at Rutgers, and played a career high 35 minutes during the Pirates' win at Louisville on December 3. The Pirates have been reliant on Carrington's play at the point guard position this season during crucial games, playing 32 minutes or more in five of the first 11 games of the season.
Backup point guard Eron Gordon is averaging just over 10 minutes per game so far this season, but struggled against last game against Rutgers. In only six minutes, he had no points and one assist, as well as two turnovers. With Big East play approaching, depth is important, and Jordan Walker would be another strong point guard option off the bench.
