The Seton Hall men’s soccer team took down the Butler Bulldogs 2-1 on the road Wednesday night.

In just the 4th minute, Butler’s Logan Lee scored his third goal of the season off an assist from Brandon Guhl to make it 1-0. Despite the early deficit, the Pirates played strong defense for the rest of the first half.

Seton Hall freshman CJ Tibbling wasted no time in the second half, scoring a goal a mere 21 seconds out of halftime to tie things up 1-1. Then, junior Carlton McKenzie quickly followed four minutes later with a goal of his own to help the Pirates claim a 2-1 lead. It turns out that was all the Hall would need.

The Pirates offense finished the game with 17 shots, six of which were on goal. Sophomore goalie Andreas Nota also recorded two saves against a Butler team that fired off 11 shots, three of which were on goal.

With the win, Seton Hall improves to 6-5-2 on the season and 2-4-1 in conference play. The team also received three Big East points with the victory. Butler, on the otherhand, falls to 4-10-2 and 2-6-0 against the conference.

The Pirates will return to Owen T. Carroll Field on Saturday for their final regular season home match of the 2018 season. The team will take on the Xavier Musketeers with the match set to begin at 6 PM.
