The Seton Hall women’s basketball team (7-3) goes up against UNC Greensboro (6-6) in the Pirates’ second and final game of the West Palm Beach Invitational. The game will be played at Keiser University on Friday night at 7:00 pm.

Friday night’s matchup is the first meeting ever between Seton Hall and UNC Greensboro. The Pirates are coming off of an 84-73 defeat at the hands of Georgia Tech in the opening game of the West Palm Beach Invitational on Thursday afternoon. Seton Hall shot 40.3% from the field against the Yellow Jackets and went 9-23 from beyond the arc. The Hall’s leading scorer on the day was Inja Butina with 21 points. The senior guard had an impressive outing in her first time back on the court since she suffered a concussion on November 25th.

The only two other Pirates that had double-digit scoring totals were Nicole Jimenez with 12 points and Shadeen Samuels with 16 points.

UNC Greensboro played their first neutral site contest of the season against Eastern Michigan in their opening matchup of the West Palm Beach Invitational on Thursday evening. The Spartans defeated Eastern Michigan 49-44. The victory gives UNC Greensboro a 6-6 record on the season. UNC Greensboro’s first-half field goal percentage was 39.1% and they shot 9-23 in the first 20 minutes of action. Nadine Soliman registered 17 points during the game and shot 6-14 from the field. The only other Spartan to score in double-figures was Alexus Wiley with 10 points.

Soliman, a junior guard, is the Spartans’ leading scorer, averaging 19.9 points per game. Junior forward/guard, Te’ja Twitty, is second on the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game. The Pirates will look to avoid a three-game skid, while the Spartans hope to establish a three-game winning streak and get their record above .500.

All of the action can be heard on 89.5 FM WSOU and the iHeartRadio app beginning at 6:45 pm. The pregame show will be hosted by Wilnir Louis and Michael Daly. Chris Famularo and Bob Towey have the call from West Palm Beach, Florida.
