The Seton Hall women’s soccer team is currently 2-8-4 on the season and will be hosting St. John’s on Saturday as they celebrate senior night.

The Pirates have lost five consecutive games but played well in their last game in which they lost 2-1 to Creighton. They had more shots and shots on goal than the Blue Jays, but were unable to draw equal against the Bluejays.

Seton Hall opened the scoring with an Alyssa Reszkowski goal in the 4th minute. Creighton dominated much of the first half after that as they finished with 8 shots to Seton Hall’s 3 in the opening half. The Blue Jays were able to turn those 8 shots into 2 goals and lead after the first 45 minutes. Seton Hall dominated the second half where they had 11 shots compared to Creighton’s 2, but they were unable to score.

On Saturday the Pirates will be hosting St. John’s at Owen T. Carroll field. St. John’s comes into the matchup with a 6-7-1 record on the year and a victory over Butler in their last game. St. John’s is currently ranked as the third lowest team in Big East conference play, but the Pirates are in last with only 2 goals against Big East opponents at this point. Through the whole season, St. John’s is averaging one goal per game more than the Pirates.

Seton Hall is still looking for their first Big East win since 2016 against Xavier. Kickoff is at 6 pm, and you can catch all of the action on 89.5 FM WSOU, or on the iHeart Radio app.
