Interview with Agnostic Front

Date: May 5, 2015

Here's an exclusive interview with Vinnie and Mike of Agnostic Front! Mad Matt of Hardcore Reality and Megaladon and Scooter of Punk held a double feature interview, asking about: The Hardcore Punk scene, the communities around scenes, Old Venues, Recognizing people at shows, and more!

Below the excerpts is the full audio version.

On "Hardcore" and "Punk" genres

"Honestly, hardcore came from punk rock. So, to me, it's kind of the same thing. Hardcore is just like a more angry, agressive side of punk. Hardcore and punk to me is the same thing... I think Hardcore is a little disenchanted from the punk, because you know, I'm from old school punk and that turned into hardcore, and I think that the hardcore is influenced by splinter groups: be it straight edge or rap, or screamo... Why don't you just get with it and get punked?"

On Old Venues closing:

"It's killin me that CB's is not there no more. I live right near there, I pass by there a couple times a week. I'll never set foot in there again... Honestly, a lot of shows are happening in Brooklyn now... You lose some you gain some."

On the new album:

"This record, it just got released last week, it's called "The American Dream Died," and we're just happy really happy to hear the amazing reviews we're getting on it. Some are saying it's the best thing we've done in a long long time... 16 songs, 28 minutes, short, fast, and in your face. We've got some songs in it that are 41 seconds. Those ones are just so powerful, so in your face. This album is so easy to listen to. It's very diverse but it has an old school tone to it."
