King Diamond Interview

Brendan interviewed Mike and Andy of King Diamond about the band touring, writing new music, and the influences they have on their guitar playing.

New Material

Andy- "We are going to start new writing music in early 2016 we aren't sure when we are going to start recording its probably going to take a little while, we want the best possible songs out of it..."

Andy's Musical Background

"I'm self taught and just listening to other guitarists when I was younger, I don't really know music theory. I just play by ear and compose what I think sounds good and that's what I've always been doing..."

Influences on the band's Guitarists

Andy - "Its hard to say, I started out as a rhythm guitarist, I was always trying to be a good rhythm guitarist first of all, and the solo thing came in after hearing Randy Rhodes in the early 80's and later Michael Schenker stuff like that..."

Mike - "I'm a huge fan as Andy said of Michael Schenker, Malmsteen, lots of 80's guitarists..."
