WSOU Announces Special Programming Related to the 15th Anniversary of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks

The programming includes:

Thank God For Monday – Saturday, Sept. 10, 8:30 a.m.  Since the inception of Thank God For Monday, host Brother Greg has remembered Sept. 11 on his show with guests who were either directly impacted or whose careers have been effected by the attacks. For 2016, Brother Greg’s guest is Mary-Michael Levitt, a Seton Hall alumna who has worked tirelessly serving others during times of distress and tragedy.  As a New Jersey-certified disaster response crisis counselor and American Red Cross Mental Health Supervisor, Levitt has provided mental health assistance in the aftermath of 9/11, hurricanes, floods, fires, tornadoes, and other disasters. She will talk about her work after Sept. 11 and about the joys and challenges of helping people dealing with emotional and physical trauma.

Pirate News Desk – Saturday, Sept. 10, 9:00 a.m.  WSOU’s weekly public affairs program that focuses on campus and local news will offer student perspectives on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks and a look at the expansion of the Essex County Eagle Rock Sept. 11 Memorial in West Orange, N.J. 

9/11: Rising Above – Sunday, Sept. 11, 8:00 a.m.  A special commemorative program with choral music and narration by former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw.

Moment of Silence – Sunday, Sept. 11, 9:00 a.m. WSOU will observe a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the attack. 

Mass – Sunday, Sept. 11, 11:00 a.m.  WSOU’s weekly broadcast of Mass from Our Lady of Sorrows Church in South Orange, N.J. will include special prayers for the victims of the Sept. 11. 

Moment of Silence – Sunday, Sept. 11, Noon. Immediately following the conclusion of Mass, WSOU will observe a moment of silence in memory of the 14 members of the Seton Hall community died on Sept. 11, as well as for all of the victims of the attacks.
