Its the most wonderful time of the year, and WSOU is celebrating the holidays by giving YOU the listeners 12 DAYS OF METAL!!!!  Starti ng December 9th and ending on December 24th, during every weekday DJ shift you will have a chance to win some awesome prizes and be entered into the grand prize drawing which will be revealed this week!  

12 DAYS OF METAL Contest Rules

How to Enter the Contest:

1. No purchase or donation is necessary to enter or win.

2. The 12 DAYS OF METAL contest will begin on Thursday, December 9th 2010, and run
through, Friday, December 24th 2010, when the grand prize winner will be announced.
Saturdays and Sundays are excluded.

3. There will be one prize with one winner during each daytime DJ shift (6AM-10AM,
10AM-1PM, 1PM-4PM, 4PM-8PM)

4. To participate in the contest, eligible listeners must respond when they hear the “METAL
JINGLE” audio cue. The 89th caller will be selected as the winner.

5. All winners during the 4-8PM drive time DJ shift will be entered into the grand prize
drawing.

6. One entry per person, per household.

Eligibility Restrictions:

1. The contest is open to WSOU listeners 18 years of age and older.

2. WSOU student staff members, station volunteers, and employees of Seton Hall
University are ineligible to participate or win.

3. Winners who win a prize during the 12 DAYS OF METAL are ineligible to win another
prize from WSOU for the next 30 days.

4. Listeners who have won another WSOU prize between November 9th 2010 and
December 8th 2010 are not eligible to participate in this contest as per WSOU’s “30 Day
Policy.”

5. Grand prize winner must be able to accommodate WSOU in their household, and the
home’s owner must give consent for the live broadcast. Such consent must be in writing
and provided to WSOU before broadcast. If WSOU judges the consent to be insufficient
or otherwise deems that the live remote broadcast prize cannot be done from the winner’s
household, WSOU reserves to right to substitute a different location for the remote
broadcast, including but not limited to WSOU’s studios. (See sample consent letter at the
end of this document)

Selection of Winners:

1. One winner will be chosen during each daytime DJ shift (6AM-10AM, 10AM-1PM,
1PM-4PM, 4PM-8PM).

2. After the program hosts plays the designated “METAL JINGLE” audio cue as
described above, the 89th telephone caller to 973-761-WSOU who meets the eligibility
requirements will be selected as the winner.

3. The Grand prize winner will be selected on December 24th,2010 from all the previous
winners

4. Odds of winning depend on the number of telephone entries received.

5. In the event that the selected winner declines his/her prize or does meet the eligibility
requirements, WSOU will announce this fact on air and then select another winner.

6. Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.

The Prize:

1. GENERAL PRIZES. For each DJ shift (6-10AM, 10AM-1PM, 1PM-4PM, 4PM-8PM)
from December 9th 2010 until December 24th, 2010 (excluding Saturday and Sunday)
there will be 12 DAYS OF METAL prizes with one winner per DJ shift. These prizes
will include, but are not limited to, CDs, concert tickets, apparel, and DVDs. The contest
winners during theses shifts shall also be contestants to be entered into the grand prize
drawing. All winners of general prizes must be 18 years of age or older.

2. GRAND PRIZE. The Grand Prize shall be awarded to all eligible contestants who won
a general prize during the 12 Days of Metal Promotion. The Grand Prize shall constitute
a live on-air remote broadcast from the winner’s household. This remote broadcast shall
include a visit by two WSOU DJs and the opportunity for the winner to appear on-air
with the DJs. The Grand Prize winner must be 18 years of age or older. The Grand Prize
winner must be able to accommodate WSOU in their household, and the home’s owner
must give consent for the live broadcast. Such consent must be in writing and provided
to WSOU before broadcast. If WSOU judges the consent to be insufficient or otherwise
deems that the live remote broadcast prize cannot be done from the winner’s household,
WSOU reserves to right to substitute a different location for the remote broadcast,
including but not limited to WSOU’s studios.

3. The Grand Prize winner will be selected on December 24th, 2010 during the 4PM-8PM
DJ shift at random from all previous winners.

Conditions:

1. By participating in the contest, all winners agree to allow the WSOU and Seton Hall
University to use their personal information for internal use only.

2. By participating in the contest, each winner agrees to have his/her name mentioned on air
and for used in any advertising material related to this contest without additional financial
or other compensation.

3. WSOU, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering
with the entry process, the operations of the WSOU and Seton Hall University, or who
is otherwise in violation of the rules. The station further reserves the right to cancel,
terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned. WSOU also
reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest including the substitution of
a different prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement

4. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification, at
the sole discretion of WSOU.

5. WSOU is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering
or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize. The contest
rules shall be posted on the WSOU web site. A written copy of the contest rules and
the name of the winners (when complete) are available during regular business hours at
the WSOU studios on the campus of Seton Hall University, 400 South Orange Avenue,
South Orange, NJ 07079 by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to WSOU.

6. As a condition to acceptance, all contest winners must release WSOU and Seton Hall
University, its employees, officers and agents from any and all liabilities arising directly
or indirectly from using the prize.

7. Winners shall be responsible for any taxes imposed on receipt of the prize.

8. The Grand Prize winner must be able to accommodate WSOU in their household, with
the proper technological equipment, to allow for the live broadcast. If the Grand Prize
winner is unable to accommodate WSOU technical needs, cannot provide proper consent
from the property owner or is otherwise unable to meet WSOU’s requirements, the
station shall substitute a different location for the broadcast. (Technical requirements
include, but are not limited to, grounded, three-pong outlet, phone line, an area for
broadcasters, and a secure place for equipment)

The Grand Prize of the 2010 12 Days of Metal contest requires consent from BOTH the Grand Prize
Winner and the owner of the building where the remote broadcast will take place.

Broadcast Consent:
I, _____________________, have agreed voluntarily to appear without compensation in a live broadcast,
audio recording, news interview, film and/or videotape. I hereby give my consent to WSOU and Seton
Hall University:

(a) to record my voice and likeness on audio, video, photographic, digital, electronic or any other medium
and to use my name in connection with these recordings; and

(b) to use, reproduce, exhibit or distribute these recordings in whole or in part in perpetuity in any and all
media throughout the universe (including but not limited to audio tapes, digital audio, print publications,
video tapes, non-theatrical, home video, CD-ROM, internet and any other electronic or other medium
presently in existence or invented in the future) for any purpose that WSOU, Seton Hall University and
those acting pursuant to its authority, deem appropriate, including promotional, recruiting, advertising and
any commercial or non-commercial use.

I hereby release WSOU and Seton Hall University from and against any and all claims, demands, actions,
causes of actions, suits, costs, expenses, liabilities, and damages whatsoever that I may hereafter have
from liability for any violation of any personal or proprietary right I may have in connection with such
use of my likeness, voice, or name in any medium. I understand and agree that all such recordings, in
whatever medium, shall remain the property of WSOU and Seton Hall University.

WSOU shall enter onto the property on the following day and time:
In consideration for the rights granted under this Agreement, I shall receive no compensation whatsoever.
WSOU and Seton Hall University are not obligated to utilize any of the rights granted in this Agreement.

Warranty, Indemnity & Release: I warrant that I am the owner of the property and have the authority
to grant the rights under this agreement and agree to indemnify WSOU and Seton Hall University from
any claims regarding my ownership of the property. I release WSOU and Seton Hall University and
its assigns, licensees and successors from any claims that may arise regarding the use of the audio and
images of the property. I hereby also release WSOU and Seton Hall University from and against any and
all claims, demands, actions, causes of actions, suits, costs, expenses, liabilities, and damages whatsoever
that I may hereafter have from the use of the assigned property.
